Martín Herrero

This work aims to challenge the preconception that toys cannot be considered art. Exploring the influences that cartoons, children's literature and toys have on the minds of young children and questioning whether there is something more sinister to what our children are being exposed to, under the disguise of a loveable character. Considering, how this affects the way in which children are shaped to be a part of society and become the next generation.
It explores how time has transformed popular culture and compares the way that consumer ism has been aimed at children throughout history.
It pretends to be looking at consumerism from a child's point of view, and tries to find a link between art and toys and the ways in which they can have an impact on society.
