Cristovao Gonzaga Suzuki

Cristovao Suzuki’s work is about taking pictures of people on the street or in other public spaces, doing everyday things but without them being aware that a picture is being taken.

The idea is to capture images without the subject knowing that a photograph is being taken to allow truly natural images to be created. The poses are unaffected by the presence of the camera and represent instances of real life rather than any image that the subject might project if they were aware of the photograph being taken.

A story of everyday life emerges through the images, each of which is an instance in the life of its subject, each of who have their own story.  These in turn create the narrative of the photographer on his quest to record what he sees in his own life.

All images were captured using film camera with black and white film.
