The use of art to explore
and highlight social issues is a central area of interest with early pieces of
work relating to child slavery, death and sexual health. Issues that have
been considered more recently include forced marriage and the repression of women,
which topics have then been extended to explore female genital mutilation
within the context of women’s sexual freedom.Materials and techniques
specific to the issues being considered are used to create pieces that have
maximum impact on the audience. The ultimate aim is to engage and
stimulate the viewer’s senses affording them a multi-dimensional experience.
